People talk about the first day they attended college…for me, the first day I stepped in college was really eventful! Although, I was among the toppers in Hyderabad, when I came to Pune I realized that anyone below 99.99% was considered with a scorn
(Bless me soul!). So they ( my dad & my bro’s esteemed friends in USA) decided to approach Cummins College & MIT for my admission!! We got an appointment from the principal who first mentioned a princely sum which got me thinking for the first time if I really needed to do engg.? (if I had a penny for that thought I would be a billionaire by now!). So we came to the campus…. Just a blur of first impressions…. OK! Not that big, lots of buildings…. well maintained… Wow! Amazing! The principal was actually on time! I was just laughing at what they called an auditorium when I looked up and read the name of the college for the first time… Cummins College of Engineering For Women, wait a sec. …. Women….. WOMEN!!!! WOMEN!!!!
DAD!!! This college is for women! This isn’t for me! I know I am a girl & all but what about my social life…? But everything was just choked up in my throat, dad was pulling me towards the princi’s office & couldn’t understand why I had suddenly developed feet of lead!! I hoped that the princi wouldn’t give me admission by just looking at my face or based that I couldn’t get a sensible word out just then… but he just spoke to papa & the admission was confirmed! We stepped out of the office, an odd pair… me like a prisoner whose just been sentenced to 4 years of heavy duty work in jail & my dad like a lawyer whose just won his case !!
I finally got words in my mouth & formed a sentence…. “Dad, this is a Girl’s College!”
Dad: “ Yah, I know! I went to MIT yesterday & just their library is just as big as this.”
How that was supposed to make me feel better… I still have no clue.
We just went ahead with the formalities, filled up the form, racked my head for the spelling of Engg. …. Signed a form which stated in plain terms that you are now banned from an active social life & are to spend the next 4years (at least!) of ur life with giggly headed girls. After numerous enquiries my dad & I finally made our way out…. I saw the building opposite… well! At least it is a well maintained college & all the buildings are close by… Uha! the board on the opposite building says…. BHANUMATI COLLEGE OF MBA… so , that means the college is just one building! I looked at my college with watery eyes… Amazing ! this place just never ceases to surprise me. Well, I managed to digest that one too.. As I left that day… I gave the single building ( MIT library size) college one last glance…. The board again catches my eyes: M.K.S.S.S.C.C.O.E.W. Now, wait a minute!!!

To write or not to write, that is the question.
Well, just as Hamlet's question was null and void.... so is the question under discussion. The fact that I chose to create a blog and inform you about it..... puts this question in the data redundant category... as my friends in the technical writing world would say. :)
Speaking about technical writing, a word of caution to all my tech writing buddies.... information or non-sense here is strictly worked on after office hours, so please do not review it. ;)
Coming back to the Q, I do believe that I have to ask myself this Q before I share things with you. For now, I am here.
